National Instruments PXI-2584 PXI Multiplexer Switch Module
The PXI-2584 (Part number: 778572-84) is a 1-Wire, 12-Channel PXI Multiplexer Switch Module designed for high-voltage applications. The NI PXI-2584 comes equipped with reed relays featuring 0.4 ms (typical) relay operating time and 3 × 108 cycle mechanical relay life. The reed relays guarantee quicker actuation times and longer lasting test equipment. This module can be utilized in multimodule arrangements for completing measurements on hundreds of channels. With this module, the user can achieve various topologies, such as a 1-wire 12 × 1 multiplexer, 2-wire 6 × 1 multiplexer, 1-wire dual 6 × 1 multiplexers, and a 2-wire 11 x 1 interleaved multiplexer. The device has a switch bandwidth of 900 kHz. The PXI-2584 can be utilized with the NI-SWITCH Front Panel for easy relay functions. It can also be utilized for debugging switch code/execution.
This Multiplexer Switch Module has a CAT II certification at 300 V and can route general-purpose ATE loads or high-voltage, low-current signals. The PXI-2584 also has 600 V CAT I channel-to-ground isolation, which makes it well-suited for fuel cell and battery stack applications. This module can withstand less than or equal to 2,500 V surge voltage. The NI PXI-2584 can provide 10 Watts switching power and 0.5 A carry or switching current per channel. This module is also designed to offer 600 channels/s maximum scan rate.
The reed relays incorporated in the National Instruments PXI-2584 have a rhodium relay contact material. For receiving and outputting trigger signals, the NI PXI-2584 utilizes PXI trigger lines <0...7>. It can accept signals generated at 150 ns minimum pulse width and can generate signals over a broad range of programmable pulse widths, i.e. 1 µs to 62 µs. As far as its power requirements are concerned, the NI PXI-2584 is an efficient module since it consumes only 1.6 W at 5 V.
The NI device weighs 7.5 oz, and measures 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of -20 °C to 70 °C, and an operating and non-operating random vibration of 0.31 grms and 2.46 grms respectively–all at a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz.
