National Instruments PXI-2591 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module
The National Instruments PXI-2591 (Part Number: 778339-01) is an unterminated, 4 x 1 high-frequency Multiplexer Switch Module. This model is designed to switch signals from DC to 4 GHz. The characteristic impedance of each channel is 50 ohms. For this switch module, the maximum voltage rating is 30 Vrms with 330 mA maximum current. This Multiplexer Switch Module is suitable for a broad range of applications, especially those where the channeling of high-frequency signals is required through automated test equipment (ATE) systems as it can switch signals with minimum insertion loss. Also, its excellent isolation parameters and voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR) make the NI PXI-2591 an ideal choice for systems geared to high-frequency applications.
While operating at ≤2.5 GHz, this switch module incurs <0.6 dB insertion loss and <0.9 dB while operating at ≤4 GHz. With this product, the user can acquire 30 V m channel-to-ground or channel-to-channel switching voltage, 0.33 A maximum switching current, 0.33 A maximum carry current, and 10 Watts of maximum switching power. It can receive trigger signals through STAR and PXI trigger lines 0-7 at 70 ns minimum pulse width.
The NI PXI-2591 comes equipped with non-latching electromechanical relays featuring Gold contact material and 15 ms operate/release time. These relays are designed to withstand 5,000,000 mechanical and 100, 000 electrical cycles. For I/O signals, the National Instruments PXI-2591 comes equipped with 5 x SMA jacks. This Multiplexer Switch Module weighs around 225 g (8 oz), with physical dimensions of 3 cm × 10 cm × 16 cm.
