The NI 778572-20 is an SPST PXI Relay Module with 80 relays and a maximum switching current limit of 2 A per channel. It is a versatile switch module equipped with independent single-pole single-throw (SPST) Form A armature relays. Each relay is non-latching, offering very low on-resistance and minimal thermal offsets. Fully programmable via software, the PXI-2520 also supports onboard relay count tracking. 

Combining robust voltage/current handling with high relay density, this switch module is perfect for automated test equipment (ATE) loads and controlling devices such as heaters, lights, and fans. The PXI-2520 PXI Relay Module includes a cycle power process, which involves fully disconnecting power from the device and its components to ensure complete discharge. This procedure necessitates shutting down both the PC and the chassis containing the device; a simple reboot is insufficient. 

The module's memory relies on power to retain stored information, and when power is removed, all stored data is lost. The PXI-2520 PXI Relay Module features electromechanical, non-latching relays with contacts made from palladium-ruthenium, covered with gold for enhanced durability and conductivity. It utilizes a 160-position, male DIN 41612 I/O connector for reliable interfacing. The power requirements for this module are 6 W at 5 V and 2.5 W at 3.3 V. Additionally, each channel can handle a maximum switching power of 60 W or 62.5 VA (DC to 60 Hz).
