The part number 778572-70 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PXI-2570 SPDT Relay Module. This is a 40-channel Single-Pole Double-Throw relay module with a maximum switching voltage of 100 Volts for both channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground connections. The module is capable of withstanding up to 500 Volts of impulse voltage and can provide a maximum switching power of 60 watts per channel with a maximum switching or carrying a current of 1 Ampere per channel.
This module has a maximum operating time of 3.4 ms with a typical time rating of 1 ms. Based on the load conditions, this module has a mechanical life expectancy of 100 million cycles and an electrical life expectancy ranging from 2.5 million cycles at 10 Volts DC. The 778572-70 supports both input and output triggers and can accept trigger inputs from PXI trigger lines 0 to 7 with a minimum pulse width of 150 ns. The output triggers can be directed to PXI trigger lines 0 to 7 with a programmable pulse width ranging from 1 μs to 62 μs to ensure synchronization with other modules connected to this relay module.
This module fits into a 3U PXI or CompactPCI chassis in a single slot with dimensions of 21.6 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm (8.5 in. × 0.8 in. × 5.1 in.), and it weighs approximately 155 g (5.5 oz) making this relay module light and portable as well as easy to maintain. It consumes 6 Watts of power at 5 Volts or 2.5 Watts at 3.3 Volts from the PXI backplane. The has an operating temperature range of 0 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature range of -20 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. It is recommended to install this module in an area free from dust and moisture as this module does not come with an Ingress Protection rating.
