With independent single-pole double-throw (SPDT) Form C armature relays, it is a versatile switch module. A usually closed (NC), ordinarily open (NO), and common (COM) terminal are present on every relay channel of the 778572-71. This relay module features electromechanical latching relays with palladium-ruthenium contacts covered in gold. It has a 200 POS LFH Matrix 50 receptacle as its I/O connector.
The PXI power requirement for this module is 6 W at 5 V and 2.5 W at 3.3 V. Each module relay can handle up to 100 VDC/100 VAC or up to 1 A current. With 66 channels per module, users can switch numerous ATE loads within a single PXI frame or across multiple chassis configurations. The onboard control logic of the NI 778572-71 switch card enables users to open and close relays and download up to 1024 random scanning guidelines.
The software provided with this module automatically sets up and downloads the output list hardware for the NI 778572-71. The scan list is downloaded directly into the card's memory, ensuring the fastest possible scan without controller intervention. Users can configure the switch card to process the scan list once or continuously loop through it. The device boasts a maximum switching power of 60 W or 62.5 VA (DC to 60 Hz) per channel. Each channel supports a maximum current of 1 A for switching or carrying. Simultaneously, up to 66 channels can operate at maximum current in temperatures up to 55 °C. Additionally, the minimum switch load requirement stands at 20 mV/1 mA.
