National Instruments PXI-2565 Relay Module
The National Instruments PXI-2565 is a 7 A, 16-Channel SPST based PXI Relay Module. This module is designed for general applications and is considered ideal for high-current switching of AC/DC current sources, DC power supplies, and AC line power. The NI PXI-2565 is an entirely software programmable module and supports a broad range of instrument synchronization. With this module, the user can achieve a 16-channel SPST topology and 125 V DC to 250 V AC channel-to-channel maximum switching voltage. The power required by the PXI measures 5.5 W at 5 V
This module is measurement category II rated; thus, it is intended to carry voltages under and up to 250 V AC/125 V DC. In addition, the NI PXI-2565 also features 1400 Vrms isolation between the backplane and the input signals. This Relay Module can provide 5 A at 30 V DC minimum switching current, 150 W, 1750 VA maximum switching power (per channel), 5 A DC, 7A AC maximum carry current (per channel), and 10 mA, 5 V DC maximum switch load.
The relays used in this module are non-latching electromechanical relays with gold-flash over silver alloy based contact materials. At 20 °C, these relays are tested to operate within 5 ms, (typical) and 10 ms, (maximum) and to release within 4 ms, (typical) and 5 ms, (maximum). Their mechanical relay life is 5 × 107 cycles and their electrical relay life is 1 × 105 cycles. The NI PXI-2565 can be triggered through PXI trigger lines <0...7> at 70 ns minimum pulse width.
Physically, the PXI-2565 is a 2-slot 3U size module that measures 8.5i n × 1.6 in × 5.1 in. (21.6 cm × 4.1 cm × 13.0 cm) in dimensions. The weight of the PXI Relay Module is 14 oz (390 g). The environmental specifications include an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C. When not being used, the storage temperature range spans from -20 °C to 70 °C. For both operational and storage conditions, the noncondensing relative humidity range is 5% to 85%. The I/O connector is a 16 × 2 minicombicon header type.
