National Instruments PXI-2586 PXI Relay Module

The National Instruments PXI-2586 (Part Number: 778572-86) is a general purpose, 12 A, 10-Channel SPST PXI Relay Module. This product is considered a viable solution for switching loads and power signals in control applications and automotive, battery, and power supply testing. The NI PXI-2586 is entirely software programmable and is offered with the PC based program. With this Relay Module, the user can achieve two topologies: 10-SPST and 5-DPST. As far as its input characteristics are concerned, this model is designed to handle 300 V maximum switching voltage (channel-to-channel) and 300 V, CAT II (channel-to-ground). The NI PXI 2586 can provide 12 A maximum carry or switching current per channel or common, while operating at less than or equal to 45 °C.

This PXI Relay Module comes equipped with single-side stable, electromechanical relays featuring silver-nickel relay contact material. The National Instruments PXI-2586 weighs around 400 g (14 oz) and is a 3U, one slot type PXI module with 21.6 x 2.0 x 13.0 cm physical dimensions. The relays utilized in this module are field replaceable, with a mechanical relay life of 1 x 107 cycles.

As far as its triggering capabilities are concerned, this model can recognize trigger signals generated at 150 ns minimum pulse width through PXI trigger lines 0–7. However, with digital filtering disabled users can let their PXI-2586 recognize trigger pulse widths < 150 ns. While operating at 23 °C with 50 ohms termination, this Relay Module can work with less than or equal to -85 dB channel-to-channel crosstalk in 10 kHz frequency band.
