National Instruments PXI-2598 PXI Transfer Switch Module

The National Instruments PXI-2598 (Part Number: 778572-98) is a 50 Ωm, 26.5 GHz, PXI Transfer Switch Module. This module is designed for routing microwave or RF signals in ATE (automated test applications). The NI PXI-2598 can be utilized for basic signal routing, as well as for the addition and removal of components in a signal path. This Transfer Switch Module is an ideal choice for passing high-order harmonics from signal upconverter to downconverter modules. The integrated, onboard relay count tracking feature can be utilized to reduce unexpected system downtime and predict relay lifetime.

The National Instruments PXI-2598 is rated for measurement Category I. Thus, it is designed to carry signal voltages less than or equal to 100 Volts. This Transfer Switch Module offers 1.25 Arms maximum carry current per channel, 75 W maximum RF carry power, and -35 dBm maximum switch load. As far as its RF performance characteristics are concerned, the NI PXI-2598 has 50 Ω (nominal) characteristic impedance. The relays utilized in this Switch Module are electromechanical, latching type relays. These relays have 2.5 × 106 cycles for their expected mechanical relay life and <0.03 dB insertion loss repeatability. In addition, the contact material of the relays is Beryllium copper, gold-plated. For facilitating seamless input/output connections, this Switch Module comes equipped with eight SMA jacks.
