National Instruments 787047-01 Vector Signal Transceiver

The National Instruments 787047-01 is a versatile vector signal transceiver designed to facilitate testing and validation across a wide range of mmWave frequency bands. This instrument integrates a vector signal generator and a vector signal analyzer, complemented by a high speed serial interface and FPGA based real time signal processing capabilities. It is engineered to support the rigorous testing requirements of modern wireless communication standards that include Wi-Fi 6.

The 787047-01 covers a frequency range from 5 GHz to 12 GHz with a frequency bandwidth of 1 GHz within the specified ranges. The device offers a tuning resolution of 4.45 μHz which allows for precise frequency adjustments necessary for advanced signal processing tasks. The onboard LO (Local Oscillator) supports a default step size of 2 MHz which contributes to the system's ability to achieve rapid and accurate frequency shifts during testing. This vector signal transceiver excels with a typical maximum settling time of 1.00 ms that ensures that the system can quickly lock onto the desired frequency with high accuracy. 

The internal frequency reference is highly stable with initial adjustment accuracy rated at ±5 × 10⁻⁶ and temperature stability maintained within ±1 × 10⁻⁶.The amplitude accuracy and settling time of this VST are optimized for precise signal measurement and generation. The transceiver ensures that output signals meet the exacting standards required for high-performance wireless testing with an IF output amplitude accuracy of up to ±1.4 dB at higher frequencies (8 GHz to 12 GHz) and a nominal amplitude settling time of 40 μs for the most stringent settings. The input amplitude range is broad supporting signals up to +20 dBm with a nominal gain resolution of 1 dB which provides flexibility in handling a variety of input signal strengths.

The NI 787047-01 is built to withstand the demands of both lab and field environments. The model weighs 1,860.94 grams (65.6 Oz) and must be operated within a temperature range of 0 °C to 45 °C degree centigrade. This VST can withstand 0.3 g RMS operational vibration and 2.4 g RMS non operational vibration. The module can be installed at a maximum height of 2000 meters above sea level without degrading the performance.
