National Instruments / Averna AST-1000 All-in-One Infotainment System

The National Instruments AST-1000 by Averna is a versatile and all-in-one Infotainment system that is designed to work alongside a wide range of entertainment, navigation, communication, and safety technologies. This device is interchangeable with the NI PXIe-5840. By pairing end-of-life testing with rapid system validation capabilities, the AST-1000 offers a singular integrated solution. Designed with 2 channels, the infotainment device has both an RF Studio Player and a DriveView Player. Both channels of the device boast a bandwidth of 200 MHz. 

Adaptable to fit user needs, the AST-1000 allows for customization of the RF Record and Replay functionality. In terms of functionality, the PXI framework of the device supports a range of NI Waveforms including wireless, LTE, WCDMA, and Bluetooth. The frequency ranges from 9 kHz – 6 GHz. 

The AST-1000 is equipped with an abundance of toolkits that are suitable for many applications. In terms of radio toolkits, the device is able to generate HD Radio, AM/FM, DAB, DRM, SiriusXM, DAB Service Linking, DRM, RDS/RDBS, TMC–RDS, and more. For Navigation toolkits, the device generates GPS, QZSS, Galileo, BeiDou, HIL Simulation, and GLONASS. Toolkits for video applications include DVB-T, DVB-T2, ATSC, DTMB, CMMB, and ISDB-T. As a result, the AST-1000 is able to effortlessly incorporate the attributes and advantages of some of the most widely used digital video, broadcast radio, and navigation protocols available.

Additional features of the device include an adaptable and rack-mountable architecture that allows additional card to be integrated, making lab validation especially easy.
