National Instruments PXIe-5646 PXI Vector Signal Transceiver (VST)

The NI PXIe-5646 (Part Number: 782952-01) belongs to a series of application test instruments that combines the functions of VSGs and VSAs in one device. This module offers NI’s unique software-designed instrument technology that allows engineers to perform the most advanced RF design and test applications, from radar prototyping to 5G test. The PXIe-5646 combines the versatility of a software defined radio architecture and RF instrument class performance.

The NI PXIe-5646R has frequency range from 65 MHz to 6 GHz and up to200 MHz instantaneous bandwidth. The expandable bandwidth of the PXIe 5646 VST allows engineers to test wireless and cellular standards while leveraging the latest performance-enhancing processing techniques such as digital predistortion.

The NI PXIe-5646R VST has a relative humidity range of 10% to 90% (noncondensing) in an operating environment. The random vibration while operating is between 5 Hz and 500 Hz, 0.3 grms, while the random vibration for non-operating is between 5 Hz and 500 Hz, 2.4 grms, respectively.

For analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters (DACs), the NI PXIe 5646 has a resolution of 14 bits and 16 bits respectively. The sample rates and I/Q data rates for both ADCs and DACs is from 4 kS/s to 250 MS/s. The onboard DRAM Memory size is 512 MB per bank (2 banks), while the onboard SRAM Memory size is 2 MB. The PXIe-5646R VST’s dimensions are 2.4 in. × 5.6 in. × 8.3 in. This model weighs approximately 48.0 oz.
