National Instruments 781805-01 FPGA Module for FlexRIO

Part number 781805-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PXIe-7966R FPGA Module for FlexRIO. Featuring a reconfigurable Virtex-5 SX95T FPGA, the 781805-01 is an excellent choice for providing both high performance and flexibility. 8,784 kbits of embedded block RAM provide the module with ample storage space with fast access times. In addition, 2 banks with 256 MB of Onboard DRAM each help to achieve a maximum theoretical data rate of 1.6 GB/s per bank. 

The 781805-01 brings versatile functionality to any test system. It’s 132 general-purpose channels are configurable as either 132 single-ended channels, 66 differential channels, or as a mixture of both types. The maximum I/O data rates depends on the mode used- the modules can reach 400 Mb/s for the LVDCI25 standard when in single-ended mode and 1 Gb/s for the LVDS standard when in differential mode. The default timebase of the module operates at 40 MHz, and has PXI Express 100 MHz (PXIe_CLK100) reference sources. The accuracy of the timebase is ±50 ppm, and it has a peak-to-peak jitter of 250 ps. The bus interface of the 781805-01 has a x4 PXIe form factor, and it is compatible with a wide range of PXIe / PXIe Hybrid slots including x4, x8, and x16. 

The maximum power requirement of the 781805-01 depends on the voltage level used. For a voltage of +3.3 VDC, the module draws a current of 3 A- while voltage of +12 requires 2 A. The FPGA module measures dimensions of 16.1 cm × 10.8 cm (6.3 in. × 4.3 in.) and weighs in at only 213 g (7.5 oz). It is able to function effectively when used within an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, and can be safely stored within a storage temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C.
