National Instruments 782953-01 FlexRIO FPGA Module

The National Instruments 782953-01 (PXIe-7971R) FlexRIO FPGA module provides a highly flexible and customizable I/O solution for advanced data acquisition and processing systems. It is built around the Xilinx Kintex-7 XC7K325T FPGA which features 203,800 logic cells, 840 DSP48 slices for complex mathematical operations and 16,020 kbits of embedded Block RAM for efficient data handling. The FPGA module operates with a default 40 MHz timebase with an accuracy of ±100 ppm and a jitter of 250 ps peak-to-peak.

This 782953-01 module offers 136 digital I/O channels which can be configured as 136 single ended or 68 differential pairs. These channels support a variety of I/O standards ranging from 1.2 V to 3.3 V that offers flexibility for different application requirements. The I/O data rates reach up to 1 Gb/s for differential signals and 400 Mb/s for single ended signals. The module features multi region and single region clock inputs for precise timing control that enhances synchronization in complex systems.

The NI 782953-01 FlexRIO FPGA module supports DMA, interrupts, and programmed I/O for data transfers. This providing efficient and flexible communication with the host system. It includes 32 DMA channels allowing for high speed, low latency data movement between the FPGA and other system components. With peer-to-peer streaming support, this module enables direct data transfer between FPGA modules or PXI Express modules without the need for host intervention and reducing data transfer bottlenecks.

The 782953-01 module is designed to integrate with FlexRIO adapter modules that allow users to pair it with high performance analog and digital I/O interfaces. This flexibility enables the creation of reconfigurable instruments tailored to specific application needs all programmable through LabVIEW FPGA software. The compact form factor of the 782953-01 ensures compatibility with PXI Express systems and it can be used in x4, x8, or x16 PXI Express or hybrid slots.

The 782953-01 FPGA module is energy efficient and suitable for various industrial environments with a maximum power requirement of 3 A at both + 3.3 VDC and + 12 V. It supports operating temperatures from 0 °C to 55 °C with relative humidity from 10 % to 90 % non-condensing.
