NI USB-7855R Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device

The USB-7855R (part numbers: 782915-02, 782915-01, 154803-01L, and 154803-11L) is a Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device from the R Series of National Instruments products. The NI USB-7855R is associated with the part numbers 782915-02 and 782915-01- the difference between the two being that part number 782915-01 is the standard version of the I/O Device while part number 782915-02 describes the OEM version of the device. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, meaning that it has all of the same core functionalities but is enhanced for integration. The NI USB-7855R has a USB 2.0 bus connector, and is programmed with LabVIEW application software.

This I/O Device features an FPGA that can be reconfigured by the user with a Kintex-7 70T FPGA. This FPGA has 82,000 flip-flops, 41,000 LUT’s, 4,860 kbits, and a time-accuracy of ± 100 ppm. The NI USB-7855R also comes with three DMA channels, with a clock rate of up to 80 MHz. The bandwidth characteristics of this module range from 1 MHz for small signals and 500 kHz for large signals.

The National Instruments USB-7855R is designed with 16 analog channels and 48 digital I/O channels. These channels have a sampling rate of up to 1 MS/s., and the input voltage range spans from 9 V to 30 V. The USB-7855R can be operated with up to 20 Watts of power, and it features a slew rate of 10 V/us. One of the incredibly useful features of this device is that it comes ready with overvoltage protection of 40 V.
