National Instruments / Smart E Tech RTI-12303 Rear Transition Interface
The RTI-12303 (Part Numbers: 785375-01 (NI), 93338 (Smart E Tech)) Rear Transition Interface is designed to interface with the Switch Load and Signal Conditioning (SLSC) platform. It allows interfacing of National Instruments PXI or CompactRIO (cRIO) systems to industrial measurement devices in a standard manner and acts as a key interface to Digital I/O (DIO), Analog Output (AO), and Analog Input (AI) applications. It features four Nano-Fit™ connectors in each of the banks to allow flexible routing of signals in various channels and meet the hardware and software standards of NI.
RTI-12303 includes the connectors JR1-JR5, XP2, and XP3, each of which is specialized for different types of signals and power levels. Precisely, XP2 accepts universal digital and analog signals, having a top voltage rating of 60VDC and current of 1.4A per contact, while the XP3 accepts high current loading, supporting a maximum of 8A per contact. The pinout arrangement of the module logically groups signals into ports (P0-P3) and provides specific ground connections (GND) to protect the signals and prevent interference. Shielded cables are recommended in the effort to provide electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in factory settings.
The RTI-12303 is a laboratory-grade instrument that operates across the 0°C to 80°C and 10–90% (non-condensing) humidity range. It is provided in a compact footprint (101.9mm x 30.2mm) that can be mounted on SLSC rear panels easily, where it is backplane-mounted for transmitting signals between SLSC cards and external devices The module supports plug-and-play functionality through the utilization of standard cables, thus simplifying the assembly of systems and reducing the development time of test configurations. Applications include switch, signal conditioning, and load simulation in automated test environments, especially in applications that require multi-channel digital input/output (DIO), analog output (AO), or analog input (AI). RTI-12303 enhances system interoperability and expandability by providing a unified method for the end connection of the measurement equipment to devices under test (DUTs). SET GmbH ensures compatibility with a wide range of industrially available connectors as well as variants for specific applications.
For integration, RTI-12303 comes supplied with SET Strain-Relief accessories (93209) for securing cable and mechanical stress protection. Its LabVIEW API alignment compatibility allows for stable software control and unified management of hybrid systems' signal paths.
