This part is a 2-Axis motion controller interface designed for precise motion control and feedback application. This module supports quadrature incremental encoders and various other digital and analog inputs and outputs, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial automation and robotics applications. The quadrature incremental encoder has a differential input threshold of ±0.3 V (typical), RS-422 compatible. It has an input voltage range of 0 to 5.5 VDC with a maximum quadrature frequency of 20 MHz.
The module is fully compatible with 5 V to 30 V limit switches and sensors. In addition, it is capable of the global shutdown of all controlled axes through Global Stop inputs. This interface provides optical isolation on global stop inputs, inhibit signals, triggers, limits, and digital I/O. Thus, it is fully capable of 24 VDC signaling. Its capacity to isolate ensures that ground loops are broken and that the damaging effects of noise and voltage transients are minimized. It has a maximum pulse rate of 100 KHz and is equipped with reverse polarity protection with a -30 V.
This module is designed to operate at an input voltage range of 24 V ± 10%, 0.20 Amps. The V iso power source supports a range from 5 to 30 VDC, drawing up to 1.75 Amps. It is made to endure harsh operating conditions with an operating vibrations sinusoidal of 5 g, 10–500 Hz in panel mount while operating shock of 30 g, 11 ms half sine, 3 shocks in panel mount.
