National Instruments 781439-01 Multifunction I/O Device
The National Instruments 781439-01, also known as the USB-6343, is a multifunctional and adaptable I/O device that combines digital and analog I/O with four 32-bit counters/timers. It is intended for a wide range of uses, such as test automation, control, and simple data logging. It supports retriggerable measurement jobs and offers advanced timing functionality with independent analog and digital timing engines thanks to its onboard NI-STC3 timing and synchronization technology. High accuracy and dependability are guaranteed for a variety of measurement and control jobs with this instrument.
With a 16-bit ADC resolution, the 781439-01's analog input section has 32 single-ended or 16 differential channels. It provides a maximum sample rate of 500 kS/s for aggregate multichannel or single-channel operations, and it ensures that there are no missing codes. The maximum operating voltage is ±11 V relative to AI GND, and the available input ranges are ±0.2 V, ±1 V, ±5 V, and ±10 V. With a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 100 dB for frequencies ranging from DC to 60 Hz, the device provides exceptional noise rejection.
Four channels with a 16-bit DAC resolution make up the analog output, which guarantees monotonicity with a DNL of ±1 LSB. Because these outputs have a maximum update rate of 900 kS/s, the 781439-01 is a good choice for applications that need to generate analog signals quickly and precisely.
In terms of digital I/O, the device offers 48 channels, which are individually programmable as inputs or outputs. 32 lines (P0.<0..31>) and 16 lines (PFI <0..7>/P1, PFI <8..15>/P2) make up these channels. The device is more resilient in different industrial applications since it has input voltage protection of up to ±20 V on up to two pins and a standard pull-down resistor of 50 kΩ.
Using four 32-bit counters providing a broad range of metrics, such as edge counting, pulse width, period, and two-edge separation, the general-purpose counters on the 781439-01 are incredibly powerful. These counters also make location measurements with two-pulse encoding and quadrature encoding with Channel Z refilling easier. With an accuracy of 50 ppm, the device accepts external base clocks with a frequency range of 0 MHz to 25 MHz and supports several internal base clocks (100 MHz, 20 MHz, and 100 kHz).
