The NI USB-6009 (Part Number: 779026-01, 191039D-01L) is an affordable Multifunction I/O Device. This device has digital I/O, analog I/O, and a 32-bit counter. The USB-6009 is an ideal solution for applications, such as portable measurements, simple data logging, and academic lab experiments. For easy portability, the device features a lightweight mechanical enclosure and operates on bus power. Moreover, the screw-terminal connectivity offers a secure connection to signals and sensors.
The USB-6009 Multifunction I/O Device can be used with the NI-DAQmx driver software and a simple to set up configuration utility to keep the process of configuration and measurements straightforward. The USB-6009 offers a sample rate of 48 kS/s through the 8 single-ended or 4 differential analog input channels. The analog input resolution is 13 bits for single-ended and 14 bits for differential measurement types. There are also 2 analog output channels and 12 digital input/output channels. The analog outputs are designed to offer 12 bits output resolution and an update rate that is software-timed. The analog output range is 0 V to +5 V. Each of the 12 digital I/O channels provided on the NI USB 6009 Multifunction I/O Device can individually be programmed as either input or output. Moreover, the digital I/O channels are CMOS, LVTTL, and TTL compatible. The device is run using the NI-DAQmx driver software.
The NI USB 6009 does not need an additional power source since it draws power from the host USB port. In typical operating conditions, the National Instruments USB 6009 Multifunction I/O Device consumes 80 mA. This device has a USB series B receptacle and is designed to operate with a full speed USB 2.0 bus interface. The event counter incorporated in this device supports edge counting with 100 ns minimum high pulse width and 100 ns minimum low pulse width.
