National Instruments VXIpc-850 Embedded Computer

The National Instruments VXIpc-850 is a 2-slot, C-size modular Embedded Computer for VXIbus systems. This model features a PCI local bus controlled VXIbus interface– an arrangement that provides high performance and reliability. The NI VXIpc-850 is known for its unique modular construction. This device consists of numerous logic blocks, such as a CPU Card, System I/O, ISA Expansion Slot, PCI Expansion Slot, etc. The MITE based PCI-VXIbus interface circuitry incorporated in this device can handle data transfers between the processor and the VXIbus via the PCI bus.

For VXIbus arbitration and trigger management, the MANTIS ASIC is utilized. In addition, the VXIbus interface contains SMB connectors for routing of CLK10 signals and triggers from or to the VXIbus. The Ethernet circuity of this device is an ISA-based circuit that utilizes a standard RJ-45 connector. Thus, the National Instruments VXIpc-850 can assist you in expanding your VXIbus system to externally existing LAN and WAN networks.

The GPIB logic block incorporated in this controller comes with a standard IEEE 488.2 port. To provide easy handling and to improve EMC performance, the NI VXIpc-850 is housed in a finely designed metal enclosure. Users can remove the metal enclosure to access various jumpers and switches or to access the DRAM. This Embedded Computer comes with dual sources to generate CLK10 signal, an internal oscillator, and an eternal CLK SMB connector. The GPIB interface of this Embedded Computer can be programmed to be used with ISA interrupts 5 or 11.  

VXIpc-850 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the embedded computer will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
