The 782257-01 is the identifying part number for the USB‑6363, a Multifunction I/O Device by National Instruments. Its 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels, each with a 16-bit ADC resolution, guarantee excellent accuracy and no missing codes. Because of its inbuilt NI‑STC3 technology, the 782257-01 has sophisticated timing and synchronization functions. This increases its versatility in a range of measurement circumstances by offering independent analog and digital timing engines as well as the capacity to manage retriggerable measurement activities. The device supports one analog trigger with functions such as start, reference, pause, sample clock, and convert clock, which can be sourced from AI channels <0..31> or APFI <0,1>.
For digital I/O, the 782257-01 provides a total of 48 channels, with 32 channels dedicated to P0.<0..31> and 16 channels divided between PFI <0..7>/P1 and PFI <8..15>/P2. Each digital terminal can be programmed as an input or output on its own. The inputs can handle input voltage protection up to ±20 V on up to two pins, and the pull-down resistors typically have a value of 50 kΩ, with a minimum of 20 kΩ. It is appropriate for many digital control and monitoring jobs due to its broad digital I/O capability.
In addition, the device has four general-purpose 32-bit counter/timers that can measure two-edge separation, pulse width, semi-period, period, and edge counting. It is compatible with two-pulse encoding and Channel Z reloading for X1, X2, and X4 quadrature encoding for location measurements. The counters are operated by internal base clocks of 100 MHz, 20 MHz, and 100 kHz or an external base clock frequency ranging from 0 MHz to 25 MHz with a base clock precision of 50 ppm. They may be used to generate pulses, pulse trains with dynamic updates, frequency division, and equivalent time sampling.
