National Instruments 777207-03 Isothermal Terminal Block
Part Number 777207-03 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments TBX-1303 Isothermal Terminal Block. It is a DIN rail-mountable block that connects with the SCXI-1100 or SCXI-1102/BC module input connector. It has an isothermal copper plane that reduces temperature gradients between screw terminals while thermocouple readings are being taken, a cold-junction temperature sensor, and a high-accuracy thermistor.
The 777207-03 features 108 screw terminals, configured as 32 sets of 3 and additional terminals. These screw terminals connect to the 32 differential inputs of the SCXI module and shield each input. The pair of terminals labeled GND connect to the chassis ground pins of the SCXI module. The terminal block is compatible with the following DIN rails: DIN EN 50 022 and DIN EN 50 035. The accuracy of the cold-junction sensor on the 777207-03 depends on the temperature range: 0.65° from 15 to 35 °C 1.0° from 0 to 15 °C and 35 to 55 °C. Likewise, the repeatability is 0.35° from 15 to 35 °C and the output is 1.91 (at 0 °C) to 0.58 V (at 55 °C). Likewise, for the open thermocouple detection, a 10 MΩ pull-up resistor and a bias resistor of 10 Ω or 10 MΩ is used. Furthermore, a field wire gauge of size ranging from 26 to 14 AWG is used.
The 777207-03 measures (7.8 by 3 by 4.4 in.) in physical dimensions. Each of the inputs should remain within ±10 V of chassis ground. This is termed the maximum working voltage, which equals the sum of signal and common-mode voltage. The terminal block is designed to meet the requirements of the following safety standards: EN 61010-1:1993/A2:1995, IEC 61010-1:1990/A2:1995, UL 3101-1:1993, UL 3111-1:1994, UL 3121:1998, and CAN/CSA c22.2 no. 1010.1:1992/A2:1997.
To use the 777207-03 with a compatible SCXI module, you will need the following extra accessories: the isothermal terminal block connector kit that comes with four 10 MΩ resistor networks, and a ⅛ in. flathead screwdriver, one cable assembly among SH6-96, R9696, or SBS-96F shielded backshell, long-nose pliers, 3/16 in. wrench, and a TBX rack-mount kit (this is optional).
