National Instruments 781511-01 Temperature Input Module Terminal Block

It is designed for use with the NI-9214 C Series Temperature Input Module. By connecting this Terminal Block to the front connectors of the NI-9214, you can connect the module's signals within different CompactRIO or CompactDAQ systems. With 60 VDC, the NI 781511-01 enhances system accuracy and ensures easy installation. It connects effortlessly to the NI-9214 via its 48-pin female DIN connectors, providing a reliable connection for optimal performance. 

When attaching the 781511-01, avoid over-tightening the jackscrews, which have a maximum torque of 0.4 N·m (3.6 lb·in.), to prevent complications. The device features three internal cold-junction compensation channels and a 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC). It operates in a scanned sampling mode with a voltage measurement range of ±78.125 mV. This Isothermal Terminal Block is capable of working over temperature ranges defined by NIST for various thermocouple types, including J, K, T, E, N, B, R, and S. 

To maintain accuracy and minimize thermal gradients near the front connector, it is essential to use small-gauge thermocouple wire, which significantly reduces heat transfer at the terminal junction and ensures accurate readings. Keeping thermocouple wiring together near the NI 781511-01 helps maintain consistent temperatures and improves measurement accuracy. Additionally, utilizing the foam pad provided in this Terminal Block opening can restrict airflow around the terminals, further minimizing thermal gradients and enhancing system accuracy.
