National Instruments NI-9982 Terminal Block

The National Instruments NI-9982 (Part Numbers: 783411-01, 783410-01, 784137-01) Terminal Block is a 13-pin female screw terminal designed to interface seamlessly with the NI-9218 C Series Universal Analog Input Module. It offers dependable connectivity, guaranteeing the efficient operation of your analog input module in a range of industrial settings. With two options for back-end connections—a 9-pin male LEMO or a 9-pin male D-SUB—the NI-9982 gives you flexibility to select the connection type that best meets the requirements of your system.

Because this terminal block supports Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS) Class 1 sensors, sensor data can be sent automatically. When combined with the NI-9218 module, the NI-9982 enhances your system's ability to communicate with TEDS Class 1 sensors in both LEMO and D-SUB topologies. Its support for further versions, such as the NI-9982L, NI-9982D, and NI-9982F, further increases its compatibility and utility in complex testing scenarios. Alternative modules such as the NI-9983L, NI-9984L, NI-9985L, and NI-9986L should be taken into consideration for settings that need TEDS Class 2 sensors.

The NI-9982 is designed to endure severe industrial settings. It can be stored safely in temperatures as low as -40 °C to 85 °C and functions dependably in a temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C. Although it is not waterproof, its IP40 ingress protection certification suggests a sturdy design that is appropriate for areas where dust and other particles may be present. The terminal block is noncondensing and can function in relative humidity ranges of 10% to 90%. It can also be kept in circumstances up to 95% relative humidity. It may be used in a variety of industrial applications because it is rated for Pollution Degree 2 conditions.

High levels of mechanical stress, such as shock impacts up to 50 g and vibrations up to 5 g at frequencies ranging from 10 Hz to 500 Hz, are designed to be withstood by the NI-9982. Its durability is increased by its ability to operate at heights of up to 5,000 meters.
