National Instruments SCXI-1314T Terminal Block

The National Instruments SCXI-1314T (Part Number: 777687-14T) is a Terminal Block with Class 2 TEDs sensors. In Class 2 sensors, data is sent between the analog signal and the TEDS EEPROM via separate lines. Switching is not a requirement with these sensors, as the analog measurement and digital TEDS signal are delivered independently with distinct lines. The smart sensors of the Terminal Block are easily connected to hardware by using RJ-50 10 position/conductor modular connectors. The SCXI-1314T works in conjunction with the SCXI-1520 universal strain/bridge sensor module. With this module, ten pins are grouped into eight separate modular jacks. Each jack is associated with one of the eight possible channels.

The SCXI-1314T terminal block has connectors for each of the resistors on the SCXI-1520 module, making it incredibly simple to swap them out with resistors for the specific Wheatstone-bridge sensors required by the specific application. The pins on each channel input link to the I/O of the SCXI-1520, as well as a precise 100 kΩ shunt calibration resistor. The relays included inside of the sensor module cycle resistors in and out of the input circuit, allowing for shunt calibration. The style of shunt calibration resistors featured on the SCXI-1314T are RN-55, 1/4 W. Depending on the application, these resistors can be easily replaced with the appropriate 1/4 W resistors if the values are different.

The resistor sockets of the terminal block have a lead size of 0.6 to 0.7 mm (0.023 to 0.026 in.), and a lead length of 2.8 to 4.4 mm (0.110 to 0.175 in.). The lead spacing of these sockets measure 12.7 mm (0.500 in.). The maximum working voltage of the digital channel-to-earth signal range from 0 to 5 V of one another.

Designed for use in a wide range of environmental conditions, the durable SCXI-1314T has an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C. When it is being stored, the device has a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C. Built for indoor use only, the terminal block can withstand a noncondensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%.
